Ribble Cycling are delighted to announce the additions of Thomas Prentice and Shaun Tyson to the development and junior strand for the team for 2019. Thomas joins from GS Metro as a second year Junior in 2019 he has a huge amount of potential both on the road and in time trials. He has won a number of open time trials this season despite being a Junior and was a medal winner in the National TTT.


Thomas Prentice; “I am very excited to be racing for Ribble Cycling next season and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. I’m positive it's a step in the right direction for my future development, and I hope to build on my performances from this season, as well as gain invaluable experience.”

Shaun Joins from local club Adept Precision. He has had a number of successes over the last twenty years, he has represented GB and England, and recorded wins across road and time trials disciplines at all levels. Shaun will lead the development team at a regional and inter-regional level and provide mentorship and guidance to the junior team.

Shaun Tyson  “This move has given me a renewed enthusiasm, I already know and train with many of the team who are based in the North East, and I get just as much satisfaction providing guidance and seeing the young riders progress as I do winning races myself.

it’s great to be working with Jack again after seeing him rise from a junior himself, and I’m really looking forward to the 2019 season.”

Jack Rees, Team Owner, added;  “Thomas has shown a tremendous amount of potential, with the support of the team and guidance we can provide I am confident he will make a real impact in 2019. I want to take this opportunity to thank GS Metro for their support and contribution to Thomas development.

The addition of Shaun is important, I have known Shaun for over fifteen years and he provided invaluable guidance to me during my first years in the sport. I am sure he will do the same to our young riders and I hope this role is able to give him renewed motivation to continue to compete at the high level he is capable of.”

Ribble Pro Cycling have continued to develop year on year and built a sustainable platform for success and progression. The team are in the process of applying for UCI Continental status for 2019 in addition to have a Junior / Development team to underpin that and provide a clear pathway of progression for riders.

Ribble Pro Cycling continue to put their final preparations together ahead of next season ahead of a successful 2018 campaign that included over a 100 victories.
